Slight delay in the launch

By on October 6, 2016

We’ve decided to postpone the launch until the 8th of November 2016.

Lyndon, Jason and Leah – BC Bike Race 2015

There’s a couple of reasons for this.

Firstly, i turn 50 tomorrow and i didn’t really want to be tied to a website launch on such a cool day. I’ve been invited out to breakfast, lunch AND dinner, by my awesome family, friends and favourite clients, so really how could i fit a website launch into a day like that? It’s a good decision.

Secondly, i haven’t nutted out the podcast process yet. So, didn’t want to rush that. That is wise.

Thirdly.. I’ve been invited to the Crocodile Trophy again this year, so it was just going to be a massive rush. So, since the Croc is really what i’m all about, i could not pass that up. Waiting till i’m back from that will give me some amazing opportunities to speak to like minded people and see if they also would like to be involved. It’s all good.

As far as progress goes, we are hitting some milestones. We’ve lined up a further 3 interviewees for our podcasts.

As you know, we are super stoked to hear from Andre “Whippin” Pepin from San Diego after he returns from Interbike in Vegas.

We’re just as stoked to have Leah “Wonder Vet” Montgomery from Vancouver, pictured above with Jason and I, share how she balances running 2 Veterinary practices and smashing Enduro races out of the park.

Can’t wait to hear from Bec and Mark “let’s just walk through the water to dodge the Tiger Snakes” Frendo, once they recover from their 6 week Bibbulmun walk.

And then Caroline and Steve “what else can we possibly fit in our life?’ Bunton share how they balance busy family life with work and play.

I hope you agree, the slight delay is going to be worth the wait. Expect a completely new look and feel over the next few weeks also and as always, let us know your thoughts on Facebook or via email to geek@weekdaygeek.com

Next challenge – crocodile trophy

By on June 23, 2012

I just registered for the crocodile trophy 2012. Nothing like an immovable deadline to motivate yourself

this one looks hard

The organizer just got back to me after thoughtful consideration to advise me that Leighton can’t compete as 5 years younger than minimum age is just too much.. So I’m going solo …

So what does the dashboard of an extreme long distance mountain bike look like?

Simple but functional

UHF radio for streaming Johnny cash direct from support vehicle, encourages rider to ride faster to get out of radio range.. Those grey nomads are not just pretty faces 🙂

And “ring of fire” is not deemed as encouraging folks! 🙂

Support vehicle looks astounding
